HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOI!!!

1 November 1994 was the day when the Gods and Devils witnessed another usual occurence---birth!!! However, this one of the many births that they witnessed is THE birth that changed my life forever. My 4 years of being the only daughter of the family has ended and it's time to welcome a new being into the family---my BROTHER. Me and my brother always fight non-stop as how it is in every family. But, I've never regretted his presence in my household. As years grow, me and my bro start to have a strong bond between us. At least for me. It is a blessing having him around. As the older sister, i even relied on him... Only on occassions. The older he gets, the more wise he, as well as I becomes. I hope with him turning 14 on 1 November 2008, he'll become a wiser person. Not to mention all the happiness be with him. A few pics we took when we went to this awesome Thai seafood palace in sg. Buloh!!!

Abortion of a Down Syndrome Child is Not Right

Good morning to Miss Lee Sa and my fellow friends. Before I continue with my speech, I would like to show all of you a few pictures. These are the pictures of a fetus in a mother’s womb. Now, I would like to ask a question. If this child is diagnosed with Down Syndrome and as a parent of this child, would you abort it? Ladies and gentlemen, this brings us to my topic for today which is “Abortion of a Down Syndrome Child Is Not Right”.

My first reason for saying that it is not right to abort a Down syndrome child is simply because the child is a human. Research shows that 40% of parents terminate their pregnancy when the child is diagnosed with Down syndrome. Does having Down syndrome make the child any less human and thus does not deserve a life on earth? The child is also like any other child and deserves love, respect and dignity. Some of you might say “aborting the child is better than sending him to a living hell on earth as they will not be able to cope with the society”. How sure are you about it? The child is not a marionette where you can gain control with a few pull of strings. You don’t know how he feels. He might want to come to this world and experience the ups and downs of life. Kathryn Lynard Soper, mother of a Down syndrome child had fears of their happiness when her first Down Syndrome child was born. Moreover, his health was unstable. However the more time she spent with him, the more she thinks of him as a cute baby. As his health stabilized and the more she got to know him as a person, she began to be excited that he was there and the fear slowly vanished. She began to have a beautiful experience. If you ask her if she is happy, she will answer you with a resounding “YES!” and adds that we will be happy if we choose to be.

Moving on to my second point which is on the responsibility of parents. Parents should be responsible for their own creation. Every pregnancy has its risks and Down Syndrome is one of them. If you’re not prepared to face the risks, then you should be more careful not to get pregnant. A Down Syndrome child just need a little more attention, patience and effort to take care of. Please do not give the three words excuse which are “not enough time”. Every God’s creation is entrusted with 24 hours a day and if other mothers can do it, why can’t you? For example, a couple in Colorado insisted on giving birth to a Down Syndrome child whom they named Jacob. They never regretted giving birth to him. In addition to that, they are leading a happy and normal life. The couple did try for a second child but never succeeded. They say that Jacob is a blessing and if they had aborted him, they would be left with nothing now. The mother also quoted Pope John Paul II writing in Mulieris Dignitatem para. 30 “God entrusts human being to her in a special way in every situation of her life”.

Continuing to my third and final point, having a Down Syndrome child gives new life experiences to oneself. Undeniably, taking care of a Down Syndrome child has never been an easy task, but there are tons of new things to be learnt from it. For example, maybe life doesn’t always have to be so perfect in order to be happy. Another mother of a Down Syndrome child, Janine Steck Huffmann said this according to her own experience, “He has taught me a lesson I still work through everyday – that the value of life, a human, a child is not measured by how much he or she can accomplish, but by how much he or she can teach about what really matters”.

In conclusion, a Down Syndrome child is also a human being. Plus, it is a parent’s responsibility to take care of the child. Furthermore, new experiences can be gained from a Down Syndrome child. Therefore, I am certain that although aborting a Down Syndrome child may seem like the easy way out, it is certainly not the right thing to do. THANK YOU!

Termination of the imperfect

Termination of the imperfect. To me, it means terminating or destroying or discarding the imperfect things that you've done. For example, writing an essay. If it's not good enough or if it has flaws or if it is not up to your standard or it might humiliate you, you will not think twice to throw it into the rubbish bin or tear it off. This kind of act is still ok larh...

Here comes the question, will you terminate your pregnancy when the doctor tells you that the child in your stomach is a Down Syndrome???

I'm presenting this 5 minutes speech titled "Abortion of a Down Syndrome child is not the right choice". And is doing some research on it. But still not sufficient larhhh... So I would like anyone who come across my blog to help me out. Please don't debate on why it should be aborted. I remembered once when Lynn asked me this question when I was in Form 3 or Form 4.. I can vaguely remember my age. I said it should be aborted and I really regretted my answer. After doing quite a bit of research, i think that it shouldn't be aborted. I have my reasons and I will post the final draft here when my public speaking is over. So, I still need more information and would need your help. It would be a pleasure to have a mother who gave birth to a DS child give some comments and share your experience. xD... I'm talking as if my blog is so popular like that. Nevertheless, thanks to those who helped yarh... ^^

Haha... Horfun is actually the noodle. But, after the rising of new star - Baron Chen Chu He in the acting field, Horfun is also defined as his fan. Because 'He' in his name means river. So, his fans are regarded as He fan which slowly changes to Horfun. Ahahax... It's kinda funny la. He's first appeared in 'Kung Fu Dunk'. Then in Jay Chou's MV(i forgot the song), and the latest 'Fated To Love You' as Dylan. He's really leng zhai and charming lorrhhhh please. Lol!!! I prefer him over the actor somehow. He's so much more appealing. Klar... Guess I'll stop here first. Shall blog bout other stuffs later. Just felt jobless, so wanna blog about him. xD.

OMIGOSH!!! It feels like HEAVEN when the internet explorer loads up. T.T... *tears of joy*

Honestly, it's been a bit of a bore and lame-ness and SUPER ROTTING-ness feel when you can't access the internet for... a month??? Actually, it's a bit more than a month considering me having a my first semester finals in UTAR and I haven't been online-ing to concentrate on the exams. Although I did tag along with my bro when he went to CC to DOTA... LOLOL!!! But, i it was onli 3 times lorhhh please... An hour each time. Ok, enough explanation. Don't so sibuk jor... Btw, DOTA got 2 new heroes.. And I got to know from Sunny that IceFrog's gonna stop releasing new maps and make a new game under 'Guinsoo'. =.="... Then DOTA how??? 0.O...

Anyway, I've got my exam results already. Keke... I'm quite ok with it larh... Considering my no so early studying and yet not so last-minute study. I can say that my CGPA is above 3.00. WAKAKAKA!!! Sunny was the first TD15 guy i saw, and when i asked what he got, he replied...

Been taking up a bit of hokkien classes with Sunny ever since the 2nd sem started. That's also because Joyce was keen on learning(to communicate more easily with her husband, Yong). WAKAKAKA!!! Hope both of them don't argue so much jor larh... Yong, don't always make her angry lar. Keep ur bad mouth shut a bit can or not??? Lol...

Frankly speaking, starting college again is a little bit of the frustration because 3 weeks of idle-ness is kind of relaxing although I've been working in OLDTOWN Kopitiam all this while. But, being able to see my friends again is a happy thing. Especially seeing Chu in her new hairstyle, she looks like a kitten to me with her big watery eyes. Then, Yong's mouth is still so laser and irritating. Feel like slapping him sometimes, if I can. Sunny is still so kawaii and his gay-ness is now known even by our Public Speaking tutor. Oh yah, speaking bout my semester 2 subjects.. I've never thought I would be having new subjects to be learned:

1) Mathematics
2) Physics
3) Chemistry
4) Economics Public Speaking

5) English Problem Solving

6) Computer Studies Writing in Science

So far, the lecturers and tutors are fine and they seemed to be more experienced and we even had loadsa laugh even it's just 3rd dat of my sem. I take this as a good start that continues until the end. But, obviously things won't be as easy as Sem 1 as teacher had already discussing about our assignments and tests.

Oh yah, I wanted to continue working at OLDTOWN. As in, part study, part work kind of thing. Coz I can save up some money marh... Then I no need to ask dad for money jor lorh... See, me so obedient right??? But, my mum don't allow as she's scared that it will affect my studies. Haih... So, i had to gather up my courage and tell my Assistant Manager, El that I wont' be working next week anymore. It was kinda hard to tell him as they are very nice people. Plus they are very funny. Especially El. My first impression on him was that he look LCLY(lan ci lan yong). But, he turned out to be funny to the extent of wolf. You know what wolf means in cantonese??? Go ask if you don't understand. Out of a million Chinese, sure got 99999 knows. Hahax... This is one of the things he said when i went to work yesterday:

Me : Good Morning El!!! (it was actually in the evening that time)

El : Hey, did u hear that bunch of girls sitting there calling my name??? (talking to Jamie also)

Me : Er... no? Just came in.

El : Yalor.. there was this bunch of girls sitting her just now. Calling my name loudly.

Me : U know them ar??? They call u El??? Ur fans lorhhh...

El : Nolar... Not El... They call me leng zai.

Me : *omigosh*

El : Ahaha!!! Although I know my surname is Leng and people call me zai. They also no need to call my name so loud lar.. I very embarassed orh...

Lol!!! He damn siao kia la I tell u. And another thing is, he also watches Naruto and Moonlight Resonance. Migosh.. Loadsa people talking bout that drama now. Even those who doesn't watch dramas and say that it is dumb... Lol... But, El is a nice person. He treats his staffs well.

Then there's Jamie (leng lui) who has the same ex-handphone and ringing tone as my bf. Next is Joanne, the kawaii mami. Tenny the potato. Hahax... Also, Richard, Rosanna and Cherry. Not forgetting Lin Oo, Thao, Min Aung, etc... Thanks a lot for taking care of me for the one month i've been in OLDTOWN!!! *ARIGATOU!!!*

Honestly, although it's just a month, i felt it harder to let go compared to my Tangs job. Mayb coz the people here are nicer or there are things for me to do. Haha... Plus, the salary here are lesser. >.<". Anyway, whatever it is... Friday is my last day. And I'm sure gonna miss that place.

Oh btw, my new house still no line. So, am actually updating at UTAR.. =.="... And let's welcome SUNNY OOI JIAN ZHEN to the world of blogging. *claps* Haha... UPDATE LA SUNNY!!!

Finally got back my phone line. My dad managed to ask someone to fix it. So, i decided to give my bloggie a visit. I was suprised to see Vvn sending leaving a comment on my chatbox. xD.. It's been kind of long since I've had a word with her. Come to think of it, I didn't really have a few words with a few of my friends. Some will just call to ask for help. I don't want to just call a friend just for the sake of asking for help and then, hang up the phone. I find that pathetic. I still keep contact with Shalini, Makky, Bavani and Amanda. Not to mention Lynn. And the lost and found Vvn. And also Natasha. Haha... Well, that proves the theory that "Friends comes and go". I was naive last time to think that friends are forever. Maybe I'm waking up from my dream already. Time to realise that the real world is totally different from what I used to think. Haha.. Inspiration of this entry came from Vvn. I've been living too long in my dream land of bishies and everlasting-ness. >.<""". But the problem is, I don't want to get out of it. See... Another problem with humans are, they know that it is wrong. But, they still want to dwell deeper into it refusing to come out. And.. I'm one of them. xD!!!

On the 5th of July, I went and had my 2nd year anniversary with my dear. Haha... We went to Ikano. He has a love for that place. And went and had dinner at A La Gourmet. The food there was nice. And the singer there was quite nice. The voice was quite funny though. I think he's an orang asli with his long hair. And, my dear must make fun of that. ><""". He gave me this photo album with pictures of us. It was kind of suprising because i've never expected him capable of doing such things. xD!!! It was a fun filled day just by having him there. We also went for Baskin Robbins. He refused to have tiramisu with me. T.T... Haha.. But, other than that, it was a nice day. Love you dear!!! May our 3rd year be more fun!!! AND I WANT TIRAMISU!!!

Haha... I went to the lab last week. Ok, it was last week. I wanted to update my blog on sunday, but some pig must come and cut of the telephone line. So, i can't go online and not to mention I CAN'T MAKE A CALL OR RECEIVE CALL FROM MY HOUSE PHONE!!! seriously, i hope that pig... well, it's not exactly a pig pig lar. More like a human pig.
